Kris, you may be able to get your hands on some concrete godfathers more easily, as every builders merchant stock them. I have used them to great effect in the past. Just bolt your joist into the top hole. However, regardless of what you use at some stage you will have to take your shirt off and get some blisters on your hands.

I seem to be doing just donkey work in the garden so far. Clearing, digging, moving tonnes of gravel, sand and sleeprer. I have my fair share of blisters and topless photos..
