Hi, I was last on this forum some years ago under the name Waggy1, but I could not log in with password.

I have my palm trees, and yuccas

While I was on the forum I followed another member in buying a vegatable from morrisons, sprouting it in a warm place and planting it in the garden. It was a big leafed plant and I think it might have been imported from columbia or some place like that.

It is still growing in my garden, and it dies down during the winter. Could anybody ID please

Hi Waggy-welcome back. icon_salut
its most likely "Tarro" (common name it is sold as) or Colocasia Esculenta to give it its proper name.
It is sold as a vegetable tuber (like potato) in Asian shops and lots of supermarkets as well.
Trust this helps

It is either that, or Xanthosoma sagittifolium aka Coco yam. The leaves of the Colocasia are smoother and it grows a bit taller, but culturally, they have the same requirements.
