Type of Schefflera?

Post by Daniel5042 »

Hi all,

I recently saw this Schefflera at what I felt was a bargain price (for it's size) and took a punt. I suspect that it is Schefflera actinophylla, but what I would really love is for it to be a Schefflera delavayi (so that I can keep it outside all of the time).

Does anyone know? Perhaps it is neither of the types I mentioned...

ps. How do you make photos display in the correct orientation here?

I believe Schefflera delavayi has a sort of fuzz on the leaves (indumentum) making them appear matt so I don't thing yours is that

I didn't know that (and now too dark to look at the smaller delavayi that I have outside). Good to know!

Oh I hope so, from reading about the 'Amate' variety, it sounds superior to a standard actinophylla! Still, it would have been nice if it was a delavayi (for outside purposes).

Thank you both.
