I had to thin a few plants out as mine went scruffy too.
Gave them to the outlaws, sorry Inlaws.

Mine were so packed they were struggling for light and all getting stretched weak growth that was flopping all over the place.
Looks ok now, so ive learned my lesson lol.

I have to trim some if my plants back to allow some light in, once I remove the bamboo I will gain a 5ft square of garden.

Looking great Google!

All my floweeing plants have really struggled this year but my palms and tree ferns have thrived. Yours look the same.
Most wanted list - Any Young Trachycarpus and/or fern.

Echo what others have said, looks very lush and proper jungle ruiny.

Thing is Goggs with the temple/tomb raider theme you have got going on I don't think you really want a perfectly manicured garden. Once palms get taller it will give more space to the other plants.

I think it looks great as is.

Cheers all ;)

Yes, you're right Del, Once I can walk beneath the tree ferns and Trachys in the centre it will look a whole lot more open again.

I really need to spend a weekend getting all the damned weds out and putting some gravel down as a barrier to new stuff just popping up everywhere. It's been a really mad year for the Willow herb round here and native ferns seem to be cropping up everywhere too, I even found them in my hanging baskets out front (wwhich I've left there).

I think this autumn/winter I'll get the weedkiller down then resand the block paving and seal it so it doesn't keep happening.

Hi Rick, how are your bamboo bits?
Has the bamboo fencing weathered ok? Have you treated it at all?
