I bought a set of 4 solar powered plant spike lights from B&M and the useless things only come on during the day. What's the point of that? It's like having a fan heater that is 30c temperature activated.

Cheap crappe, even my bird feeder doesn't feed birds.

All my lights work at night,

Are your lights in good sunlight Goggle?

I buy mine from QVC. They come with a tab you take out even from new they light once you take out the tab. They are so good they are a flikin menace when you come to put them away for the winter. Asoon as they hit the dark wardrobe they are lit.

Two years ago there was a cockup with the price on some lighting at B&Q. I got two huge post lights for £6,00 I wanted more so I returned the next day to ask where the stack of the post lights were he said' they are somewhere and the girl is on lunch'.

I found them down an alley priced at............£40.00 for two...  Bet someone got less in their wage that week. They are so nice, like lamp posts...stainless steel.

They even look like they have the old fashioned mantle inside but they are solar..I just put them out this week.

Lights are solar Bob..no batteries in mine.

I got one of those big garden torches powered by some oil parrafin mix, to see if it was any good b4 buying more, it was too dim though and i found out that if you breathe the fumes in it can damage your lungs, so gave up on that idea fast.

Oh Bob,

Spend on QVC they really are great additions to the garden.

That sheeite you tried will stink aweful and your plants may complain. I can't think of anything more smelly than Parrafin.

Trespezz? Is that a rip off version of Tresspass?

QVC have a 90% markup on their sale items, they buy at such quantity their markup can be anything up to 500%.

Steer clear, you can get everything cheaper and sometimes even get a free sample from the (often Chinese) wholesalers.

That said, I have no doubt their solar lights are better than the rubbish I bought from B&M.

Next weekend I am making a couple of large concrete trouhgs so I've put in an order for things to go in them (and elsewhere in the garden).

Ordered:

COTINUS ROYAL PURPLE
2 x Banana 'Tandarra Red' (Cheers for the tip Ste)
30 x FREESIA Double Bulbs
2 x BLUE AGAPANTHUS Lily of the Nile
MOZART Zantedeschia Calla lily bulb
90 cm Chamaerops Humilis
GOLDEN ROD
2 x CAREX "Frosted Curls"
2 x HOSTA FORTUNEI AUREOMARGINATA
Hosta June
2 x Hibanobambusa 'Shiroshima' Bamboo
Fargesia murieliae 'Vampire'
2 x Bergenia Red Beauty
3 x Polystichum polyblepharum

Spent a bit more than my £30 voucher but it should give a nice effect.

:D
