Very very tidy indeed! Absolutely adore the recessed parking space on the right!
Do you get much pavement foot flow from passers by or have they no reason to walk that far round?
What a difference compared to your neighbours across the road, certainly doesnt look like the UK

It gets more people than you might think. The ally beside the Roman Villa, is the only link between the two housing estates, and is the main drag for dog walkers. Many people stop and talk about the garden as they are passing through.cordyman wrote:Dave Brown wrote:I Need to report a very rare occurrance. A sunny, warm day. Thats great people appreciate it and recognise it for its uniqueness! Have you had any local tropical converts?
If i'd have never found this forum from my first cordyline enquiry, but stumbled across a front garden like that, i'd have been instantly given the tropical hobby and desire to replicate!

Great pics, Dave. If your home was made of wood American-style, I would assume the shots were taken in California

Yes, it loved the wet summer of 2012, and the warmth of 2013. Seems to be putting on around 6 to 9" (15 to 25cm)of trunk per year.cordyman wrote:Great pics! Is it me or has the washy put on some considerable height?

Although Kent has the highest temps recorded in the UK Wikipedia suggests...otorongo wrote:In Portuguese, Kent would be pronounced the same as quente, which means hotDave Brown wrote:Costa del Kent
The name Kent probably means 'rim' or 'border' (compare the dictionary words cant in English, Kant in German, etc.), regarding the eastern part of the modern county as a 'border land' or 'coastal district.' Historical linguists believe that the proto-Indo-European root *kanthos could not pass into a Germanic language with its initial K sound intact, so the word must have passed via an intermediate language, either Celtic or Latin.

I bought the Butia in 1992, and was probably 5 or 6 years old, so around 25/30-ish years oldfieldfest wrote:very nice as always mr B. love the butia. how old would you guestimate it to be?
