Never seen a portrait panorama, how many stitches is it, like the extra height it fits in.

Re: Dave B's Blog - Spring at last :)
looking great already, as always
good thinking with the portrait panorama, thats how I like to do them otherwise you end up with something too wide and skinny
heres a nice 180° from st michaels mount, unfortunatly my camera doesnt do mine for me

Just in case folk have not tried it and good as the Canon-providing stitching software is, I now prefer Microsoft ICE for stitching. I dare say Photoshop et al are better, but I don't have any heavy-weight image software.
Re: Dave B's Blog - Spring at last :)
this is the end of hijacking daves blog, but that ICE is awesome and the photosynth it uploads to. 360 degree interactive panorama of my garden coming very soon- you can even tag all your plants in it. I normally use photoshop but this is so much quicker and the tagging is brilliant

Re: Dave B's Blog - Spring at last :)
I Need to report a very rare occurrance. A sunny, warm day. Me being in, but with no cars on the drive. I don't think it has happened before Couple that with the new portrait panorama setting and it's completely different to any pics I've managed to get before.
Best regards
Dave

Love those pics Dave, amazing to see your garden from a wider perspective and it really does you proud. Incredibly tropical looking!
What's the sword leaved plant that sits on the left side of the group of plants on the right in photo 1, it's also central in pic 3?

Believe it or not the sword shaped leaf plant is a self sown Cordyline autralis, which is in flower at the moment. It still has a full skirt of green leaves on the main trunk. Don't know why, as it rarely gets watered, but maybe due to getting it's roots down deep from a very young age.
Best regards

Re: Dave B's Blog - Spring at last :)
Wow Dave, I did actually wonder if that was a Cordyline but decided it couldn't be. That's amazing!
If you get the chance I'd love to see some dedicated shots of that, it looks an absolute belter!
