Thanks peeps!
On the strength of winning this year, I am thinking about opening to the public for a day next year. I had so many nice encouraging comments this year from family, friends and the judges of Abingdon on Thames in bloom, plus of course my "family" on HTUK, it seems to be the next step in keeping me focused on my gardens future projects!
Next project: replace wooden raised beds with rendered block work or cladding and lay a new patio! icon_study

Hi Springy!
Congratulations on your garden! Ez nagyon szép.
I would like to ask how many degrees you had it, the coldest winter?
Excuse me if I do not write well, I can not exactly English.
Thanks.

Brrrr that makes me shiver. Not had a really good looking frost like that yet this winter. It does look good on the palms. icon_thumleft

Rob the tree ferns do have a ball of fleece in the crowns so I think they should be ok with the odd frosts at the moment. Being south facing, the garden soon warms back up again in the morning.
Thankyou for your concern though. icon_thumleft
If the weather takes a turn for the worse I will take the appropriate action.

I'm really loving my garden this winter and I hope it stays mild enough not to damage any of my plants!

I purchased some rootwood garden seats to go by my pond which will hopefully weather down nicely in time! They will replace the straight bench that I made a while back.

The benches look great, I didn't realise you had put fleece in the crowns icon_thumleft

I've also got a bit of a project going on with the patio at the moment. I'm removing the woodwork in the raised beds as it's starting to rot away and I'm going to replace it with rendered blockwork or timber clad blockwork.
I'm doing it all myself so I'll go with whatever I feel I am able to achieve.
I'm also replacing the patio as it's the last job that really needs doing. It's uneven, unlevel but useable at the moment but it's high time I got it done. It's the last part of the house/garden that is in its original state!

Still looking fabulous Springy and goes to show with the right plants an exotic garden can look good year round.

Whatever you choose for your patio, I'm sure it's gonna look tasty when finished.
