Them Arum lillies, QVC was airing Bethlehem lights on plants, the Cala display looked lovely in lights.

Had to move my potted plants from the front as we have scaffolding on up on Monday and everything is in the way. Had a mooch about and was surprised that the daffs have buds on them in my north facing front border, some are flowering in the area but in favourable spots with sunshine, this border gets sod all in June . My potted Canary Island date palm has pushed up the soil about 2 inches above the top of its pot so the roots must be growing well, will have to make a decision in the Spring. Any thoughts on my Chammie, it looks very compact and has small leaves, is it just a Humilis?

Well seeing as its refrained from raining for 3 days and temperatures look to pick up nicely for a while, I actually got round to cutting the grass yesterday and tidy up a bit. I still refrained from unwrapping the basjoo just yet, but may do at the weekend. To be honest it was the biggest waste of time this winter as there's only been 4 airfrosts. Better to be safe than sorry. Hopefully the daffs will open up this weekend and that's the sign for me that we are up and running in terms of spring.

Yes its a Cordyline red star, they have both grown really well over the last 18 months or so, the one in the pot in particular.

It was planted June 2012 so its coming up to 2 years now, looks better now than it did this time last year!

I'm trying to reduce the lawn, cutting it is my least favourite job on a par with fleecing. Although it looks so much better for being done.

Its some Tesco own make effort that probably needs replacing. I just enjoy doing other things other than that, like sitting there on a warm summers day just looking and watching the bees lol.

best machinery i've bought for the garden, a 30 min, constant emptying, back and forth chore with the Flymo,

...became a 5-10 minute cut and hoover of perfection job ... more time to watch the bees
