Cheshirepalms blog - Planning for a new arid bed.
Great day for gardening today and yesterday, gave me a chance to cut the grass and plant out a few bits and bobs.

I think its a Senecio, I bought a few from homebase last summer for 99p and that was one of them. It was a test really to see what I could overwinter in a heated but cool greenhouse, its set to about 5c and usually holds up at above 3c, but has reached -0.7c in the prolonged cold spells we had in feb and march. I've lost quite alot of succulents, some crassulas don't overwinter well at those temperatures it seems.

Re: Cheshirepalms blog- New border for basjoo and path.
Just thought I'd update on the latest garden work, new border has been dug to accommodate my Musa Basjoo, once the frost risk has passed, hopefully later next week! Also added a stepping stone path so I don't trash the lawn in wet weather and with winter fleecing, its not finished yet and will hopefully go right round the garden.

I would be cutting big borders into that lawn at the back! It's just so tempting
You're lucky not to have anything over the back of your garden. I have a nicely maturing tree belt, but a busy road there as well.

Looking great! Always an exciting time adding new borderscheshirepalms wrote:Just thought I'd update on the latest garden work, new border has been dug to accommodate my Musa Basjoo, once the frost risk has passed, hopefully later next week! As Adam said the back area is perfect for a bigger border to cram full too
