A few pics of spiders and flies Iv'e seen this year.
Raft Spider, our biggest, female can reach 70mm.

Amazing pics Clive, love the colours on the Dragonfly. Beautiful in a creepy sort of way

The damselfly is a Banded Agrion

Dragonfly up here from Sept 2010; Southern Hawker if I've got my i.d. right:

I love Dragonflies,

I really tried taking a pic of one in our pool in Teneife2010...... :mrgreen: It just would not land and stay there.

Great pics Clive icon_thumleft I’ve only ever seen a wasp spider once before and that was in Dorset :)

Have seen any ladybird spiders in Dorset Clive!

I've not seen any, they are tiny and burrow a lot. The article says they have been relocated to Arne (coincidently where I was this afternoon) it is where the Raft and Wasp spiders were seen.

Clive I was told several years ago that there’s a small colony of them around Corfe castle.
Not sure if they will still be there though!

I'm going to a Nature group meeting tomorrow at Furzebrook, a village next to Corfe, I'll ask the guy that runs it if he has any info on them.
