Unusual, wall hugging critter ?

Post by Dave Brown »

I noticed this little critter on the garage wall while washing the car. It looks a bit like a Harvester but laid out flat against the wall, an oddun icon_scratch When I touched it, it raised itself up and looked similar to a Harvester. Can anyone confirm what it is ?

Yep, it's a Harvestman. I've not seen that behaviour before, guess it is something they do to avoid being too easily visible to potential predators, or maybe to avoid frozen legs?

Cheers icon_thumright It was quite windy, so maybe an attempt to avoid being blown off.

I have seen them do this quite often. It always reminds me of rollerskaters when they skate under a limbo pole but in a spiders world! icon_spiderman
