Hundreds of Avocets are settling in for the Winter at Arne RSPB although 1000+ are expected.
Freezing my nuts off today for a few birds, -1c when I arrived!!
The Firecrest and Great Grey Shrike eluded me.
The best I could do with my non DSLR camera.
Loads of Goldcrests around but getting a good shot was nigh on impossible.

Re: Avocets
Nice birds. Not had time to go for a local walk for many weeks, really need to get out there. Avocets look really exotic to me.
Re: Avocets
Not many Avocets up here, but they're starting to colonise the last couple of years (as summer visitors; pic from April)
