Should I wake the hedgehog?

Post by Tom2006 »

I found a hedgehog hibernating in the bottom of our garden. I checked yesterday thinking it would have been up and away with the milder weather but its still there. Its definitely alive but I'm worried such a long winter might have left it too weak. Should I uncover and put some dog food down to tempt it?

Leave it. Nature has a way of looking after itself

Don't wake it, but do keep an eye on it, and offer it some dog (or better, cat) food for when it wakes. And even more important, some water.
