Not 100% sure, but think I saw a brown argus today. I've had to search online for an ID as it's the first I think I've ever seen. it wasn't a fleeting glance, it was a good 2 minute study

Walked the dog and went past a naturalized buddleia in a hedgerow, saw large and small whites and 2 different types of brown ones that didn't stay still long enough lol. Also saw some mottled grasshoppers and this lovely peacock.

This is one that I need to see! One day I will. Was it drinking from a puddle?

I think it was up to no good on an overhanging willow. The only puddle around at the time was the one I was fishing in!

Not many people have mentioned Red Admirals yet. Anyone seen more than one at a time this year?

Several Red Admirals seen here, but only one at a time. Seem more Commas and Blues than anything else, although did see 4 in the garden at the same time over the weekend. A Comma, 2 Whites and a Brown.

Weekend before there was a bright scarlet winged Butterfly or Moth, about 4 cm across, but did not slow down enough to see properly.
Best regards
Dave

Probably a Burnet, maybe a Cinnabar.

I have noticed a marked increase in butterflies in the garden since i Packed it with flowers this year, no idea what they're called and they always fly off before the camera comes out
