My main Acer on the front lawn is now in leaf,
I have complained that no birds visit the back garden, Imagine my amazement to see loads of small birds on the Acer.
Is there something attracting them..maybe stealing the odd leaf for the nest, or looking for Insects?
Either way I am loving the birds visits...three years in the making...

Re: Conifers
Probably looking for insects.
But yes, planting some conifers will certainly help attract birds by giving them shelter and cover.

Re: Conifers
Inherited the Leylandis but they had to be heavy pruned unfortuntely, This showed how old and whacked they are. Holes big enough to see in the next garden....
It was just unusual to see the small birds on the Acer. In the back border/back garden I just planted a Dogwood for the birds..I hope. It grows over two mitres it says.
Sorry about the delay Conifers, I don't recall a notification for the reply.
Thanks!
