Super Moon
Completely forgot about the super Moon, then caught sight of it as I let Fluffy out.
I used a tripod with the camera on 30x optical, plus 2 x digital zoom, and a night setting for tripod. Then used the timer so the camera was completely still when the shutter went. Must admit the pic has come out far better than I expected

Re: Super Moon
Great pics. i`m hoping for clear skies tomorrow night as June 23rd is the night our Moon will be at it`s closest to Earth. If you get some nice clear skies it should look pretty spectacular. Certainly worth taking a few snaps of tomorrow - cloud permitting.

Re: Super Moon
I found the pics have to be taken before it is properly dark, or the contrast between moon and sky means you don't get any detail, just a white disk.Andy P wrote:Great pics. i`m hoping for clear skies tomorrow night as June 23rd is the night our Moon will be at it`s closest to Earth. Re: Super Moon
Thanks Dave, I'm on the lookout for a new compact as my G3 is too big to carry around. I will probably go with the TZ40 as the HX50 is a bit too much for me at the minuteDave Brown wrote:I'm using my new pocket Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX50 30x zoom

Re: Super Moon
Didn't look at TZ40 this year, but looked at the TZ30 last year. Users reviews said although the TZ30 ticked all the right boxes, it handled the basics less well than the TZ10.pdid wrote:Thanks Dave, I'm on the lookout for a new compact as my G3 is too big to carry around.
