I think its important we return the land to its original bio-diverse state by introducing these animals before its too late Heres a great video i love on the subject, found it about three years ago, you should watch it to the end if you can, its really inspirational http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JGA3lNOzJk

And just so you guys know the moose, or elk as us europeans are supposed to call it is in scotland (only the yankee's and canadians call it moose) There are two on an estate in scotland, a rich landowner wanted to do something good so reintroduced them, they live semi-wild as they stay on the estate, however they forage for their own food. Its just a waiting game until they breed. :D

Well in Suffolk you would not get so soon wolfs or Lynx. I was more refearing to Scotland. Some thinly populated area.

Well foxes are more a thread to chicken then wolves, let alone lynxes. But with a good enclosure of you chicken you should be able to keep foxes out.

i wish it was that easy :) ive been doing the job for 8 years and nothing we have tried has managed to keep them out! they are very smart and can dig under, climb over and destroy anything you put up to stop them. wolves are more intelligent than foxes and they would take chickens as a snack  If the government could set up a relocation program for wolves and lynx that were taking livestock im sure the farmers and game keepers would be more accepting of a reintroduction

yea right .... they will be extinct due to 'fox hunting; (which is a barbaric medevial cruel sport and not even practised in 3rd world countries)
Fox hunting is banned and against the law if using dogs whilst doing it which most people these days do!. :( https://www.gov.uk/hunting-and-the-law

In Germany wolves pray mainly on roedeer, red deer and wild boar. And sheep are also on the menue. Well chicken maybe when free running.

Are you sur it is a fox and not a king of marten. Especialy the smalller members can get in via the tiniest opening.

Well we get allready more then 500 beavers here in the country! They where extinct here and have been reintroduced in 1983. Now they are also found close to big cities!

And in Belgium also arround 500. Well in Germany some 25.000!
In area where beavers had returned also lot of other plants and animals have had improved habitat. By daming of creeks and streams and by removing trees beavers create open ponds and wetlands in what was ones a fast running river or creek. And they are a keystone elements in the ecosystem.

Yes Alexander they are wonderful creatures. I sincerely hope our stupid land owners don't kill them.

Here a link to the German wolfs on facebook. Importent is a posetive attitude from the human population for this animal. And that seems to be the case in Germany fortunately.
