Not far from where I sowed last year's Rainbow Chard, a single seedling has appeared that is a colour I never had from last year's crop. It's not growing in last year's row either so it can't be tardy germination from eighteen months ago. Only a few plants in the mix I had actually flowered, so might this new one be a hybrid?
The stem and veins are bright orange and the leaves are very large. Nice, strong flavour, too.
