I have grown a variegated runner bean, cannot be a deficency as they grow along all my others, was a variety given to me by a neighbouring plot, have saved loads of seeds if anyone wants some. I cant promise they will grow like it again though lol.

Looks like a decent chimaeral variegation to me. I would love a couple of seeds if you can spare them!
Were the beans variegated as well?

No sadly they were not lol. I don't know if it was virused or not, all i know it was healthy and still is, loads of flowers and beans.

If you pm ya details i will gladly send you some seeds when they are ready.

I do hope it is a true variegation to be honest, mosaic virus is making me think, surely the plant would suffer and the variegation be similar all over the plant? I don't know, I am a humble throw it in and let it get on with it gardener, not a scientist or expert. I just don't have the time lol.

Mick, you do realise runner beans are perennial :?: I grew some for the In-Laws tortoise last year, as I was looking after it for the summer. As they are looking after it this summer I didn't sow any this year....... BUT, one of the 5 plants came back this year and is in flower now. They seem to produce a small tuber. icon_thumright

So might be worth, putting in a frost free place, once it has died back. Never heard of growing them from a tuber before, but normally too easy from beans.... but if you have a special one might be worth a try

If you have any spare seed I'd like to give them a go, Cheers icon_sunny
Best regards
Dave

Not sure what it is Ade but it's a heap of sh*t and is getting ripped out in November

Any recommendations for a new supplier?

Those doors would have cost a mint when they were first installed, of course I cant see the full kitchen though.
Supplier? doing it on a budget? look at Howdens, they are trade but joe public buy there too. Howdens are a MFI spin off and sell trade ranges as well as going slightly up market.
If you want good quality then Magnet are a firm leader, anything above and youre looking at bespoke.

OOPs sorry everyone, I should have PMd this to Fletch.
