Finally got some pics of the phoenix plasticus Was going to take some more pics, but nearly got mown down by some person in a porsche ( I was standing in the road!)

Did someone set fire to it or is the dead look an intentional effect for accuracy?

Not the best idea to stick anything with height in line with a constant south westerly wind

Which ever dumb wit in the council is responsible for those monstrosities should be put against a wall and thwacked repeatedly with a real palm frond , they look like giant lego palm trees, only lego looks somewhat more realistic. Horrible!!!

What a dreadful sight?
Just for comparison heres how they do it in Napier ,New Zealand.
Mind you Southampton shopping malls and recreation areas are nearly as bad as that street scene in Brighton.
