Frost protection.in lean to greenhouse.

Post by Mach1 »

I am thinking of installing some low level heating with a low temperature thwrmostat to stop my 6 x 12 greenhouse from dropping below about 2C, to protect some of my more tender overwintering plants. Any suggestions as to wattage that would be needed?

How are you insulating the greenhouse?

I have a couple of electric fan heaters with thermostats that I can use in an emergency but I generally do nothing. I find moving the air around is beneficial but I last used them 6 years ago!

Charlie is right. Any mild weather, make sure the doors and vents are open and close everything if it gets frosty. To keep the air moving electric fans thermostatically controlled for frost free work best. Keep the fan running cold on days above zero.
