Palm advice please

Post by MusaBajoo47B »

I have two new palms, one I want to keep in a pot and the other to plant in a new island bed.
The faster growing for the island bed, the palms are Jubaea Chilensis and Butia Odora.
Which of the two is the faster growing please?

MB, as you live in Telford I would plant the Jubaea outside, as I think they are slightly more hardy also the ultimate size is bigger, if you are young enough to watch it grow. Also do you intend to move house in the future? If so plant the other one out. icon_thumleft
Don't Just sit there, plant something!

Unfortunately I'm not going to be around to see the Jubae grow up as I'm 72 but will enjoy watching the others grow in a a new bed I'm planting up in April. Giving the garden a makeover while the wife is in Oz so I can steal more the lawn. She'll burn my ears again when she gets back as I steal parts of the lawn each February when she out of the country seeing her brother.
