Forget the palms, what about you?
You're a saltwater fish, all this fresh water must be getting right on your gills.

You've had more than me here in the wet west .... and that's a lot of rain.
The showers / downpours are coming in from the North Sea now which again isn't good for you

I guess that desert plants could "drown" in a wet period during summer, but surely you went for some that like a bit of the wet stuff?
Re: The rain is concerning me now
Good news is were heading for a drier, warmer period of weather.

Re: The rain is concerning me now
1985 summer was the worst for me since moving here, where the warmest weather was in October. I used mirrors on the ground to reflect extra sun as it was too cold to sit out in July and August. Also Summer 1980 was a cold one with chilly NW winds.
This July is the worst I can remember this century, and the last week has just been 18 to 20C with continuous showers or periods of rain. The garden is looking the greenest I've seen it in July.
We have not had high amounts of rain in terms of mm, but in terms of time raining it is much higher than normal. Still having to water, as the rain is not wetting under plants.
BUT, the Ensete are Lurvin' the high humidity

Re: The rain is concerning me now
Personally i think the weather here in the east midlands this year must be the worst i have seen for a few years, It is the coldest summer i can remember, i have had a T-shirt and a jumper on for the past week if not more now and usually its a t-shirt and shorts with flip-flops. The rain has seemed to be more frequent just lately as well, and the winds are making a slow return at times these being chilly also. This summer is nothing compared to last years now that was nice excluding august that was a rubbish month.
Re: The rain is concerning me now
Must be a northerner view but been dry sunny and mild to warm (shorts and t shirt) for weeks now. Only needed to wrap up in the limited rain. So far its been decent summer but would be great to have a solid august of proper summer!
