I know that some of you are having it a lot worse than here but I don't think any of you would begrudge me a normal winter after the last two that I have had to go through.
Not at all matey....mind you I am starting to think I am due a nice mild one. This will be the fourth winter in a row where we have had sub -7C temps! icon_thumbdown icon_thumbdown icon_thumbdown

Our local (quite accurate) weather station has us down for a -10C on weds night.  :x

I've just dropped down to -0.1c, I'm appreciating the way the UK seems to have turned upside down this year too Adam.

Roll on the end of the week when we should all be in a much warmer position.

a tropical high of 9 here today, and currently 1*c,

bbc's tuesday night predictions so far

-8
-1
-5

I dont recall seeing them change there mind to such a large range so much?!

Is the weather currently on a pivotal tipping point where it could go either way?

One thing i'm sure of if I could have the winter i've had here so far for the next 100 years, i'd happily take it drunken_smilie1

Its notoriously difficult to predict radiational freezes. High pressure , slack air, they have to predict where the clouds will be, it can be 5 or 6C difference depending on cloud cover.

It's been lovely here again today, signs of spring returning.

Today's high has been 9c, warm and humid.

-4 forecast for tonight, probably due to clear skies.

Sadly no sign in the weather models. Looks likely things will move to a frigid northerly/north easterly direction by next week. No end in sight to this cold spell icon_thumbdown

Got a strong feeling the casualty list will start growing with much more of this. I've just not got anymore room inside for big palms, i've got some massive pots of bamboo that have been froze solid for a week :x .

i brought two of my bamboo pots in over the weekend, and they went from spindly thin leaves to flush and healthy again within 12 hours.

The concrete things are rather big actually conneted to one another by underground corridors. We can't get rid of them, it would cause major damage, the dunes are full of concrete structures, with rooms and whatever they thought would be usefull to keep you guys out icon_thumright
