Thursday May Be Quite Cold
Re: Thursday May Be Quite Cold
Sadly, yes, although I am quite well sheltered from North and East. Forecast 25mpg N.W. Thursday evening and 20 mph NE Friday evening, I'm going to put all the loose pots of anything tender-ish in the greenhouse. Its got a broken pane on the North end though I had better block that up!

Turn that energy into heat
Re: Thursday May Be Quite Cold
Storm in a teacup........especially if you drink it on the North Norfolk coast
Re: Thursday May Be Quite Cold
Don't worry, not taken today!
Had you all worried, though
Re: Thursday May Be Quite Cold
We got a low of 7C, of course not a killing temp but breakfast today is not gonna be what I'm used to.
Re: Thursday May Be Quite Cold
Surprise surprise 6C last night despite forecast remaining at 8C..... upside is on these sunny days I often exceed the forecast high by a similar amount.... today's forecast high is only 11-12C.... can I get a 13-14C....?Lowest forecast temps for me are 8C for Wed night and Thu night according to BBC. I can end up as much as 2C lower than their forecasts though, especially on clear nights
Cool but not unusually so for the time of year, and forecast to improve here after tonight - which is also forecast as 8C
Re: Thursday May Be Quite Cold
Build a good sun trap and you'll get more, maybe even 17C.madgav wrote:Surprise surprise 6C last night despite forecast remaining at 8C..... upside is on these sunny days I often exceed the forecast high by a similar amount.... today's forecast high is only 11-12C.... can I get a 13-14C....?
This weekend I'm going to remove the lower branches on the conifer that casts shade on my garden in the morning, hope the landlord doesn't notices it. Then paint the slab black some more
Re: Thursday May Be Quite Cold
The UV today is going to be fairly strong for the time of year, so even though its very cold feeling outside, the UV could reach 3-4 in isolated spots (that's enough to burn very sensitive skin)... very interesting for almost mid-October.

I thought the highest UV index possible in London on 1 Oct was 3?stephenprudence wrote:The UV today is going to be fairly strong for the time of year, so even though its very cold feeling outside, the UV could reach 4 in selected spots (that's enough to burn very sensitive skin)... very interesting for almost mid-October.
It's overcast ATM so I don't think we'll even reach 2, unless it clears up.
