Outlook might be changing ????

This November looks like being a super mild one, no end in sight to the mild conditions. Once weather gets stuck in this pattern it sticks. Going to be positively balmy for time of year in coming days.

Nigel that's music to my ears.

Everthing being brought inside now as wrecked by wind, which is as damaging as frost, although plants survive it.

Washingtonia looked as bad in March 2007 and it did in March 2011. 2006/7 wrecked by wind, 2010/11 wrecked by freeze.
Best regards
Dave

I wouldn't say the outlook remains excellent, or super mild to be fair. It looks cool, but frost free. Cooler than it should be for the time of year (slightly), but just frost free. Near average for early to mid November. Signs of potential cold spell at months end still there.

Looks average to above which is excellent compared to winters padt. Mind you winter 2010 was overall very mild apart from 6 weeks of horrific cold. If we can get towards the end of Jan like we are now I will be very happy.
Most wanted list - Any Young Trachycarpus and/or fern.

Actually not particularly impressed with November so far. Certainly not mild in this neck of the woods, in fact below normal throughout. No air frost yet but a touch of patchy ground frost (+2C) on Mon morning. It's expected to remain cool until Sunday when we finally get into the mild air. After a few days it looks like settling down to around average.
Really feeling it after the warm October, but it has to be said it has still been milder than the start of November 2012.
But yes, the pattern has been very Atlantic dominated & the outlook for the foreseeable seems pretty good icon_thumleft

Yep the north has flirted with some cold air , but looking mild for all in coming days.
Stephen, CET is currently 1.47C above average for time of year , with it set to get substantially warmer.

Not complaining by the way.... At least it has been a bit drier/sunnier here than further south, and so long as the temps remain positive I'm happy enough :)
The models are showing at least the possibility of something colder later in the month but it's well outside the reliable time frame for now.

Very little warm sun in the south. Mostly rain and wind. Wind and rain is our friend now until next march, and we have to enjoy brief interludes of sun that ridge in from the south west. Any other kind of high pressure will bring only cold.

Completely agree, sun and clear skies are not what I want to see from now until March! But I've had at least 3 days of wall to wall sunshine over the last week (today looks like it could be one of them) with temps of 10-11C, which has been quite pleasant. And with nights not getting too cold either.

Snow showers up in the highlands on Saturday and frost on Sunday morning.

It doesn't feel very mild at the moment either, particularly when waiting for the train to work in the morning and it ends up having been cancelled twice this week.
