Yet another storm 23-12-13
Re: Yet another storm 23-12-13
Yep a bit breezy and drizzle here on the south coast. It was a very interesting drive on the way home along the A27 tonight
Re: Yet another storm 23-12-13
No stats to back it up but this seems a lot worse than St. Jude down here at the moment. Not sure if Flounder agrees? Seems it will go on for longer too ...... please let the damage be minimal!

Is it due to come up to Yorkshire? Had a lot of rain today but no strong winds?
Re: Yet another storm 23-12-13
rather quiet here! Meant to be a little stronger tomorrow but nothing unusual... definitely worst for Scotland west, and south coast.

How does it jump from the south coast to Scotland without hitting me?
Re: Yet another storm 23-12-13
wind has almost completely died out here, it's just mild and cloudy, and quite still!
Re: Yet another storm 23-12-13
No rain to speak of yet, windy though this morning,
The rain may arrive tomorrow.

Because there's steep pressure gradients in two different parts of the Low - it's a fairly complex one. 1 (at its strongest now) is the area that's hitting the southeast now, 2 (still strengthening) is the area that's going to hit NW Scotland tomorrow.Yorkshire Kris wrote:How does it jump from the south coast to Scotland without hitting me?stephenprudence wrote:rather quiet here! Re: Yet another storm 23-12-13
Blowing in from due south straight into the lounge windows, quite an unusual direction for strong winds. Can hear the wind and rain above the TV sound, and the large double glazed units are flexing, causing the blinds to move. A bit scary
Best regards
Dave
