Re: Storm 5th January 2014
The weather just keeps getting better when will this serge of storms end. I better starts protecting my plants again. all we need now is frost and snow and there will be nothing left in the garden
Re: Storm 5th January 2014
I'll take storms and rain over frost anytime. We've already had a strength 6 storm, so anything up to that my garden can take.

Re: Storm 5th January 2014
The next one is looking like being 950hPa (my idea of extremes is 950 & 1050) ... and the one a couple of days after that 940
Re: Storm 5th January 2014
Lets hope the current American weather does'nt come this way!
Re: Storm 5th January 2014
Well, with the strong winds and lashing rain, we've now had thunder, lightning and some pretty impressive hail. With the blue sky and balmy January temps of this morning, all I need is a snow flurry and I've got the set!
Re: Storm 5th January 2014
The wind is howling at the moment, everything is being whipped back and forth. The lamp standard outside is swaying about and vibrating!
Have lost the Sky signal!
Went to look at the sea at Bovisand at 4.30pm just before dark (from a safe distance and in the car up on the top of the cliff road).
Pretty impressive huge waves, I have to say. The sea was right up to the cliffs and still 3 hours to go to high tide.
Bet theres no sand left on the beaches there tomorrow!!
There'll be a lot of salt on all the plants tomorrow, might hose them off! Do you think its a good idea or a waste of time??
Hope everyone on here is OK and your plants survive!

Waste of time getting the hose out, give it an hour and the rain will do it for you
Re: Storm 5th January 2014
Expecting localised severe frost tonight.. Out of all the weather recently lol. Very localised area here could go down to -3 or -4C tonight but this is not the case everywhere. Then back to gales tomorrow!
