Today is the coldest day so far, the next few days are forecast to be warmer.

The pattern that has dominated since mid-Dec hasn't brought particularly mild weather to us in the north west. But it has been average, and that's almost as good :)
The first half of December was very mild here, which led to a mild month overall, but January looks like coming in about average, maybe even slightly below.
Perhaps the most remarkable thing since mid-Dec (apart from the rain) has been how little daily variation there has been from the seasonal norm.

It has been a quality winter in terms of lack of cold. In fact I can remember few like it. We haven't even had a flake of sleet so far! Spring is just around the corner folks!

Put it this way. I think the Samaritans are unable to cope with all the weather forums depression! .....a good sign for us.

Today is my coldest day 3c all day. :-( no doubt a frost if this rain clears by tonight.

A mix of fortune and circumstance have allowed us to stay relatively mild and frost free. We still have the whole of February which could highlight our complacency but whilst there will be more frost in February than probably the entire winter so far, there's nothing bad coming if we skip through this period.

What makes you think there will be more frost in Feb?

I *feel* it will be a mild SW setup icon_sunny

It wouldn't be difficult

We've had no air frost in January (maybe 1 tonight but that's all), only 1 air frost in December).. That's 1 air frost all Winter so far.. how can that not be beaten?

We had one frost in November, and none in December or January.

By the looks of it, a frost-free Feb is not that unlikely.

One light autumnal frost here in bristol too, winter is so far frost free.

I certainly hope we're not being setup for a sting in the tail with a cold spring when nature re balances itself!!

Super dry summer and autumn, made up by wet mild winter, missing cold to appear in spring? Seasons 2 to 3 months out of sync?

I can not say when all my frost were but I know I have had over 7 frosts definitely this winter. Not bad ones where they take some time to clear, I think harsh ones only about 2 may be 3.
