Sunny and calm here now, but it should be storm like later today here as well and also on friday it is going to be very windy. Not that hard as Cornwall but decent wind speeds for sure, specially on friday.

Huge scots pine, about 40foot, down across the road and into the garden across the road.
Has been there since the 60s, what a mess.
Surf is absulutely massive. Locals never seen it so big here.

Think I have become desensitized to it as garden has sounded like a freight train for most of the last 6 weeks, and most damageable stuff was damaged on 23rd Dec.

Highest gusts were 48mph but didn't even notice, just seems normal, only checked the wunderground record after looking at this topic. My big Cycas revoluta has fronds that tap against the lounge window when windy and has been doing it constantly all winter. I'd probably notice more if it didn't.
Best regards

Current strong gusts are a good tester for my 9ft D.A. trunk and how well its rooted.

So far so good which is more than can be said for the patio table.........

I agree we could do with some cold and dry to allow early work yo begin. Im normally out tidying mulching and getting the first slug pellets down next week. But its so wet I doubt I'll get a sniff. That said all my plants are nice and green and alive so better that and a crazy early spring getting everything sorted.

I like this mild weather; frosts would damage my plants so I obviously don't want any.
My garden is soggy but everything is growing nicely :)
And we've had quite a lot of sun lately... not today, but most days.

The sun is already strong enough to dry the washing on the line in the garden within a day icon_cheers I dried a hoodie 2 days ago, and a bunch of other things on Sunday.

Looking at the models this morning its getting very very serious down south. Low after low looks to push in over the next couple of weeks delivering potentially more rain than we saw in January. This really would be unprecedented and further reinforce tge alterations in global weather that keeps producing record after record.lets just hope the next record to be smashed is a very early warm spring followed by a heat wave summer.
