-2.1 degrees on the thermometer overnight, and warm sun to get rid of the frost by 9am, so nothing too bad considering my frosty hollow location!

Looking warmer from the weekend onward, 16-17C is forecast for Saturday and Sunday icon_thumleft

Correct, looks good from friday and even furtheron it looks like a nice spring week. It is still a bit on the long term, so hopefully the cards will stay like this.

It is not that bad on this moment as well with lots of sunshine but just cooler. :)

No need to early rise, frost lingers if its cold enough through to next day. Here its usually gone by 10.am.
warm sun to get rid of the frost by 9am,
there you go.

Well the Wunderground station (not in my garden) saw a low of 0.9C that night, and when I came out into the garden at 8:30am it was already 8C, so if I had had frost that night, it would have been long gone by the time I came out.
Mind you, my garden is SE-facing.

That, and the fact you live in London,

I live in Wigan and its near enough under a blanket cloud, more rain and colder. it rained last night so I never covered and it was white this morning, only light frost but it was there.

That was at 7.30 am. its a beautiful sunny day this morning.
