Dave, You may have been asked for this before, but have you thought of adding a 'thanks' mod to the forum. Like this one...http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/thanks_for_posts/ . Works in a similar way to the facebook 'like' button for anyone who doesn't know. Just a thought.

If I wanted to thank an individually for somthing...I would PM them.......and if I wanted everyone to know I would start a new thread....

They have a 'thanks' with thumb icon at Banana.org

Some posts do'nt require the written word so a button of thanks is handy.
