down sizing photos?

Post by Tom2006 »

I have finally got around to taking some pictures of my patch. The problem is they are all over 1.5mb. How can I make the size smaller so that I can upload them to this site please?

Use Imageshack to host them and tick the 800 x 600 button before upload.

or you could download 'gimp', which is similar to photoshop and is free: http://www.filehippo.com/download_the_gimp/.

Just open your photo within it, then goto 'save as'. Select .jpg if it doesn't have that file extension already. It will then give you complete control of the size of your piccy.

Wonderful little program called Quick image resizer
http://www.dzsoft.com/image-resizer.html
Free trial then $29 payment. If you regularly resize image its well worth the cost. Drag image in and drag reduced image out in seconds. Several different resolutions possible from thumbnails up. Below is small image of the interface.
