Froum database problem is now fixed and the forum back up

Post by Dave Brown »

  Apologies about the lack of Forum this afternoon, there was a problem with the sessions database related to logins. Under normal circumstances Aido would receive an email directly form the server and deal with this, but he is away on business , so was not able to receive emails. He has sorted the problem this evening from his hotel room, and I have been given a quick course, in case of re-occurrence. icon_thumright

Once again apologies for the downtime
Best regards
Dave

Hats off to you and Aido for getting it sorted out so quickly (and, as its my day-job, I suspect that you were able to do so because you had put effort into making sure you are in a position where you were able to "cure" the database in short order - bit like wrapping your favourite Musa at just the right time to give the appearance that you can predict exactly when the mega-bad-weather will arrive!)

Good to have the forum back but at least the Facebook page has a few new faces because of this.

I must admit it was my first post on the facebook page. I just needed my daily fix of HTUK and had now where to go!

Thanks guys, and gals :D

Facebook is different, and some people prefer that to forums, others the opposite, but it is a useful stopgap in times of crisis.

Also, if we end up with a situation where the forum is hard down so we can't notify everyone on what is happening. I will update the main Hardy Tropicals webpage (Home Tab)
Best regards
Dave

Erm...did'nt you get some tuition from Aido as I recall..

Times I see admin locked out is unreal around the forums. I don't have mine in view but you can go to PHPmyadmin and see your username and create a new password.

May be best not to tell you that Dave...HAHAHAHA
