My photos are too wide to upload?
I used to have no problems uploading a photo directly onto the forum as long as the file was less than 600kb. Now even when the file is small it wont upload because it says the image is too wide or tall (over 4000 pixels.) How do I get round this without cropping the images or uploading to facebook first then re saving which is more faffing about.
Re: My photos are too wide to upload?
resize with a program on your pc, i use photoshop but there are lots of free and easy ones
i thought 400kb was the limit and 1000 pixels wide, not sure on height
you could upload to a htuk gallery and [ img ] to the smaller file there

Re: My photos are too wide to upload?
easiest option is to set your camera to small file/low quailty if youre taking forum specific photos

800x600 px is no problem, you've probably adjusted to something like 1920x1080.
I think the forum limit is 1000px wide but it could also be something to do with the tech difficulties that Aidan has been working on as there are a few things still in need of a tweak in php.

Re: My photos are too wide to upload?
I've used photo bucket etc before but used my limit of photos. When I try to post a photo thats small but not cropped it says a photo must be larger than 0 x0 pixels and smaller than 4000 x 4000 pixels. Uploading to facebook then saving that image and uploading to the forum is fine but I don't want to have to upload all the images to facebook first.
Re: My photos are too wide to upload?
Do a Right Click on the file and Send to Email, it gives you 3 choices... small medium large.

Re: My photos are too wide to upload?
I uploaded a 5184 x 3888 file earlier to show the max size of my new camera, but reduced the % to 66 before attempting it. It took a few seconds to upload but was fine.
I'll load again to check. No problems just took a bout 5 secs to load.

Yes, I just set the horizontal pixels to 1000 and it created a small file that was in the 0-4000 range.
