Hello everybody
Hello everybody
Hi,
I joined at last after having enjoyed for several months the informative and often funny posts. I live in So'ton and am trying to grow an interesting garden.
I have been looking at the many photos of your gardens which have been posted, and found inspiration and beauty there. Congratulations!

Hi Dave, and many thanks to everybody for the warm welcome!Dave Brown wrote:Hi Paolo and welcome What are you hoping to grow ?
Hhhmmm... what do I plan to grow... I have already some subtropical plants (e.g. Euphorbia Mellifera, Alocasia Gaolingensis) and some Mediterranean (e.g. fig tree)... I am not very focused on anything right now, I think I need some structural plants (I guess a Cordyline or a Trachycharpus palm) first. My garden is *very* small, the nice thing it's the exposition- open on east south and west. So I have a "dry" side (the South one) and a "wet" one (North).
Another big problem is seeing all your splendid gardens, and getting embarrassed by the riches...
For example, for reasons of privacy I would like to put in some bamboo, I guess a Phyllostachis Aurea, but since the garden is small, I fear the spreading... is there a way of restricting the roots that is effective and does not require digging until down under?
Thanks a lot, Paolo

Welcome, Paolo
You can still think BIG in a small garden. Plenty of ways to do it can be found here.
Go for it, Paolo
