Hello and Ferns

Post by marinedrift »

Hi
I am Michael
I am a fern fanatic and would love to get in touch with other ferny folk, but I also love a mixture of the tropicals and native species. I think the two work very well if planted together. Right now I have cow parsley next to a fern and they work very well

I grow quite a few ground ferns as they like my damp climate.

I have given up on tree ferns though as I have lost quite a few of them over the years.

Pot them up Adam and you can move them all over...its the way forward with Dicksonia antarctica's icon_thumright

No I am sorry but I have a very large Asplenium buliferum which throws off lots of little ferns from the fronds, if anyone lives in the sheffield area or who is passing is welcome to some of these, they are very easy to grow, stick it in a bit of potting mix wait three years and you will have a sizeable fern and in my opinion hardy to around -5
