Any idea what the plant is called in non-Poundlandese, so we can research it?

Tree lilies, you can get them at Thompson & Morgan etc

Tree Lilies normally Oriental Trumpet type I think? Oriental Trumpet happy in both Alkaline and Acidic soils, whereas Asiatics would need Alkaline soil.

I couldn't see how many were in the packet. if more than one its a good price, if only one then high quality named cultivars available for £1.50 a bulb, and personally I'd prefer that to something that has perhaps been hanging around for a while.
