Hey, 28 y. old bloke from south east part of Norway.
Just started collecting tropical plants this year, so my collection is not much to brag about... Yet...
Interested in everything strange and different, and having trouble finding plants here. Probably not a market here in the cold north for exotics..
some of my plants are:
Colocasia Gigantea
Colocasia esculenta
Alocasia macrorrhizos
Aristolochia Grandiflora
Musa Acumulata (read that Acumulata dont exist, but thats what the tag says)
Cordyline Australis "red"
Brugmansia, (type unknown)
Do any of you have Aristolochia grandiflora? Wondering about overwintering this amazing wine!
Thank you for a great forum, and look forward to learning more!
Daniel

Re: Hello from Norway
Thank you Kata, more plants will come! Have grown everything in pots, so space is limited!
Next year i will start work in the garden!
My plant interest has just begun this year, so this has been my first year really caring for the plants i have bought!
Spent many hours online doing research, not to mention getting my hands on some of the plants!
Name tag has been changed to Acuminata So annoying that they cant name plants correctly!

I am the same, no real space Daniel. I still want to retain some lawn while trying to go for the tropical look.Have grown everything in pots, so space is limited!
Just the other day I planted a Basjoo and had to almost go down to the footing and still not really deep enough. I also see my Trachi is showing fine roots above as wll.
Less housing, more garden. I have never seen so many houses crammed into one place.

I agree it would be good to see more gardens.kata wrote:I am the same, no real space Daniel. I still want to retain some lawn while trying to go for the tropical look.Have grown everything in pots, so space is limited!

Re: Hello from Norway
All I can do is keep adding extra compost Rob,
The main Acer is the same, thats been showing roots because its not deep enough, granted I never thought it would grow to such an extent, now its got this massive claw root showing but too big to take out the tree.
To put where, its the same back and front for depth.
