Hi from sunny Essex!

Post by SarahC73 »

Hello everyone!

I'm Sarah and I live on Mersea Island, near Colchester. I've been gardening for about 13 years and until a couple of years ago favoured the cottage garden style :ahhh!: . However, I have seen the light and for the last 2 years I've been creating a "tropical paradise"-still long way to go!
I've finally gotten around to joining the site, which by the way, is great. I've learned so much from everyone's posts and had loads of inspiration, :D .

Here's a few pics of my garden, a work in progress. 2 years ago was full of mud and builder's rubble!

Welcome Sarah, your garden looks great, especially when viewed the right way round. I'm going for a similar look with decking paths.

Thanks for the warm welcome and kind comments everyone!

Half hardy-thanks, my husband built the decking last year under my direction!! I'm pretty chuffed, with his efforts.

CW01- whereabouts do you live?

Flounder- yes garden is on a bit of slope! husband had a bit of a problem building decking. Had to raise it quite high to level out.

Yorkshire Kris- thanks-not very technically minded! Must just say you're videos have helped me to overwinter my musa basjoo and ensete maurelii successfully. Thanks icon_salut

Fern Rob- thanks, my tree fern has a lot more fronds than last year,I'm quite pleased with its progress-but I would like longer fronds. Any tips?

Kata- Pics are right way up when clicked on!! I dunno why that's happened, as I said I'm not great with computer stuff!! icon_scratch . Took me ages to resize them as well!!
