Hey all,
Ive only ever known about HTUK via the facebook so this is kinda neat.

So I have a small i guess youd say courtyard with a musa, Dicksonia antarctica, some bammboo and a collection of hostas and cocolasias (sp)
but just yesterday we "inherited " this small garden.

Essentially I live in a ground floor flat, the upstairs is rented.
The landlord came over and we cleared all the junk and weeds to reveal this spot, he says we are totally free to use it for BBQs, planting and whatever as his renters have no interest whatsoever.

Now obviously I'm not going to go buy £500s worth of palms and Dicksonia antarctica but does anyone have any suggestions for some relatively cheap plants we could pick up that are UK hardy that we could pad this out with?
Its south facing but each "corner" of the entrance gives some shade untill around 2-3

I was thinking a couple of Fatasias (spierweb maybe)
A T rex would be great but I never see them for sale.
A few Hostas?

The borders only go around 1 ft so I may be limited in that regard but the back section is perhaps 2ft?

Any advice would be great :D

Hello and welcome sorry but can not see photos but admin are working on it.
T-Rex is widely available at specialist nurserys and on line (mail order)just put full name into search engine and you should get results although availability at this time of year may be limited depending on what size you want. icon_thumleft

Thanks Tatter, Yeah I cant seem to embed an image to save my life, though have seen it done so perhaps my linking skills are failing me.

Ah fair, I still regret missing a member of the group selling some just up the road from me in Bristol :(
I guess picking one up along with a host of other things from one sight would be better as currently I just head to local centers then get annoyed they dont have much stock of intrest or what is there is crazy over priced.

I think the rare plants fair i went to in cornwall has spoiled me!
