Greenhouse Erection Weekend

Hubby has taken Friday and Monday off in the hope that we get the greenhouse up this weekend, the electrician is coming Monday, we have to go to Worcester Saturday and to really get him in a bad mood for the weekend he bent my car yesterday

someone put a lamp post in the works carpark??

I think its hilarious, but I'm a woman and you men take your driving very seriously

That will just about be in time by the looks of this autumn. I put the heating on for the first time ever in September on wednesday.

I hope the weather where you are is better than the forecast for here. Cold Northerlies, with rain this afternoon and evening and my son goes back to Portsmouth tomorrow.

I think car insurance reflects the fact that although men and women have roughly the same amount of accidents, the men do a lot more damage when they do. I have my son, and since last week my daughter, as named drivers on my 1.8 Escort. It cost £250 more to put my son on, and only £55 for my daughter.

The 'erection' did not go well. This thing is enormous! I nearly had kittens when the frame was up. Anyway the base has to be altered, even though it was all measured correctly and leveled it was not right. Then rain stopped play!!!!!!

Now the bad news, there is rugby on this weekend so I don't expect much work to be done! The weekend after that hubbies project goes live and it has to be right otherwise where he works may grind to a halt on the Monday, and the weekend after that I have to go back into hospital for a laparoscomy!!!

Gosh I hope the mild weather holds,!!!!

I'm trying to keep a straight face here Libby

The only thing to focus hubby's mind is, the TV will be in the garden, once all the plants have moved into the house to escape the cold

There is no way I am having a house full of plants

I'm in a terrace and its only 13ft wide, its bad enough trying to pass one another let alone fill it with plants......... then try and pass one another!!!! I know I've tried it and it doesn't work!!!

Its dry today so, Im off down the garden to dig worms!!! not really, I'm going to try and get the base right! I know before you say anything, I'm not supposed to be doing it, but these are my tropical plants we are trying to protect!! So something has to be done!! Normally I would have done the whole thing myself, well except getting the frame together. But the base would have been done and all he would have to have done is come home, do a bit of sawing, screwing (screws!!!!)and lifting and more or less the rest I could have done myself!!!

I have a very happy hubby! Not only have we got the frame up, after last weekend which turned out to be a bit of a palarva! as we bought a 10 x 8 greenhouse and laid the foundation accordingly!! Only problem was it was actually 10'6 x 8'3!!!!!!!!!!!!! So had to do it all again. Hubby was not a happy bunny!!! Anyway its done lets just hope its square enough for the glass!!!!??????

but as you said, England won and he watched last nights match as well, and is currently watching the SA v Fiji match as I type!!!

I'm now waiting for the glazing rubber strips to come, so hopefully during this week I will check all the rest of the glass, order any that got/get broken and hopefully the glass will go in next week!

As handy as I know it will be lucienc it does take up a huge amount of space, and it is far to big for the garden! I think I would much rather have a drive that I could put up a temp one like you!! but for heavens sake don't tell hubby!!!!!!!

The lawn will have to go now,(I think) its so small its hardly worth having and looks really daft!

I could do with getting a garden designer to look at it and come up with ideas, cos I've totally run out!!!

If anything Libby make a circular or oval lawn with what is left as a feature. It makes a long, narrow lawn look wider, and really it doesn not matter how small a feature is.

When I dug my path up and made an oval lawn in 2002 the garden looked enormous.
