Re: more flowering bamboo
No expert but think it will die in the next few years. Depending on size and species it may die this year or survive for several more.
Re: more flowering bamboo
Not entirely true , some Boos only partially flower.Yorkshire Kris wrote:No expert but think it will die in the next few years. Depending on size and species it may die this year or survive for several more.

Re: more flowering bamboo
Off the top of my head Chris I can't name varieties without some research but in some boos Partial flowering, where only one or a few culms bear flowers, seldom causes the plant any lasting harm.Yorkshire Kris wrote:

Re: more flowering bamboo
Just been reading up on this & it seems it can flower & live, but as long as it's only the odd culm doing it. More worrying is their seems to be more & more reports this year
Re: more flowering bamboo
There's a topic on this on GOTE at the moment, the consensus of opinion seems to be that this particular bamboo can survive flowering.MonkeyDavid wrote:Just been reading up on this & it seems it can flower & live, but as long as it's only the odd culm doing it.
