Post by musabasjoos »

The Palms tropical oasis is closing down for good this coming Sunday 17th July.

http://www.stapeleywg.com/department/plantlife/

A relative of mine who works there has informed Me that the Palms will open the following Tuesday for 1 day (free entry)for anyone who wants to buy any of the plants, pots etc.

I shall be there myself at 10am when it opens to grab some bargains icon_cheers

Darren, why is it closing down? It is always a shame when these sort of places close as there are never any new attractions of this type that open.

And what sort of stuff will they be selling off?

Hope you get some goodies, it's a bit far for me. But sounds really interestying especially if there are specimen palms etc.

Daniel, its closing down because Dobbies have purchased the whole site and are building eventually a new garden centre minus the 'attraction'. icon_thumbdown

Apparently everything is for sale, plant pots all the plants which are planted in the Palms tropical oasis etc.

What a shame that the attraction is closing.

I'd imagine there will be a few bargains to be had on Tuesday and not just the plants either. I bet there's a whole load of backroom fertilisers and treatments that won't be needed any more.

I wish I had the transportation neccessary, I'd be there first thing.

I'm not 100% sure. All My Aunt says that works there is that you go round and put offers on anything you fancy. Its all got to go even the fixtures and fittings.
