new to palms.
new to palms.
Hi,hope i can gain some valuable tips and information from you all. my first experience with palms started with a small fortunei which lived in a pot for to years until the trunk was about 1ft tall with a good top on it. the winter just gone i lost it and it had a 22inch thick trunk!!. I have just pushed the boat out and purchased 2x fortunei, one with a 4ft 4inch trunk but very thick and one with a 4ft 10inch trunk but a lot thinner and very straight looking. They have both gone straight in the ground with plenty of good soil horsemanure, nitrogen feed and a double dose of palmbooster. I have also just purchased a stunning yucca Rosstrata blue leaves, this has nice thick trunk which is 90cm and a big healthy crown. karl.

Hi
VERY NICE palms!!! Where did you get them from , not seen any as straight and tall as that for a while.
From what I gather the Rostrata are virtually bomb proof, hoping to get one myself in a year or so.

Re: new to palms.
Hi tom. the palms were from cypress nurseries, and the Rostrata was from Hyde farm exotics. The place i had the yucca from were fantastic to deal with, a man called Roch owns it and is a real enthuisiast. I'll be on my prayer matt for the next couple of weeks re the palms. karl.
