I dont think any agaves are really 110% hardy in the North especially after last winter without protection.

Personally not grown this one though.

i was just wondering is size come into play....I have little ones in pots so just popped them in the garage.....

The bigger the more hardy but also most expensive to replace.

Hi size is very important I would imagine -7 to be about the limit with some damage

This one is planted indoors and -8 caused damage to 5 leaves which has just about grown out.

Yes the worst night showed -7.6 at a height of 3 feet :x the aeouniums had frozen leaves a few have recovered.

Hi Coddy the agave might be a better buy than I thought just had a look at the ebay link ,its almost certainly not A.salmiana ferox but seems to be A. salmiana which is 4- 5 degress hardier than A.ferox.The leaf length is to long to be ferox at that width plus the plant is to "blue".

This one took -13 4 years ago outdoors with just a fleece cover when we had some snow,hope this helps.
