Cycas revoluta -remains of last flush or start of new flush?

Post by cordyman »

Are the tiny light coloured fronds remains of last flush or start of another?

Does the crown have to open up apart in centre for new flush

That's a very healthy looking one Cordy. Another thing to look out for before a flush is that the leaves become a bit more lax and start turning yellow, drawing all the nutrients out of the old leaves and into the new ones.

Maybe they are everywhere out there. Nurseries don't think it a good use of their time to dig it out, and I bet they are far, far cheaper over there than here.

A bit like offering a Nursery to come and dig out your Leylandii
Best regards

Lived in Texas for 5 years. They are everywhere and they will flush 2 or 3 times a year so they grow much quicker than over here, you can pick up a rugbyball sized caudex plant for about $40.
