Yes, they're basically just large wooden crates lined with builders grade plastic sheeting with holes punched in the base then a foot deep layer of gravel and topped up with soil and compost.Kristen wrote:Are the raised beds "isolated" from the Leylandii? They're sat on top of the root-infested soil and 'clad' with bits of sandstone.
The overhead spread of the conifers keeps it nicely sheltered too.
They'll be dismantled in spring to make way for my greenhouse and something a bit more permanent.
