That's where I found this one Mr L, Grub put a link up on his Facetube page.
Finding them for sale as plants in the UK is proving tricky, I can get seeds but would prefer a larger ouple for this season's growing.

I'm sick of it in my garden because it's a very untidy plant so I'll dig some up later towards spring and send you some if you like. Remind me as I have a notoriously bad memory.

Can I ask what kind of temperatures you got last winter in Penzance? I'd be interested to know just how hardy it is?

The foliage looks like another infamous alien weed (Giant Hogweed) tooThe Codfather wrote:just cut the flowers off....but the foilage looks good.

i have no pics from last year.. but it did survive -18 no problems. mine is not as deeply cut as the top picture..more like swiss cheese leaves.. a really nice looking plant, ihave 4/5diffrent ligularias all good large leaves a good plant to have imo.
Re: Is anyone growing Ligularia Japonica?
That's excellent news Bobby, -18 is a serious low temp so I'm definitely going to consider this as hardy.
Thanks for the Crug link Mr List, I'll have a good look through that later and will probably end up ordering a few varieties.

I planted one of these behind some podophyllums (Kaleidoscope & Sptty Dotty), the colour contrast worked really well.Mr List wrote:this one also has really nice dark leaves:

Edit - found this photo. It's not the best but gives a general idea.
